GLENDALE – Chamlian Armenian School’s Syrian Armenian Relief Committee has planned and executed various successful fundraising activities in the past couple of weeks, making them one of the major sponsors of the Syrian Benefit Concert, Hye Aid, which will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2012, at the Glendale Civic Auditorium. Successful collaborations with local businesses such as Baja Fresh, Cold Stone Creamery, and Sarkis Pastry, have helped Chamlian Armenian School reach its fundraising goals.

Additionally, students have been educated about the plight of the Syrian Armenian community and have been asked to support this worthy cause by donating to the classroom donation boxes and purchasing raffle tickets. Chamlian Armenian School’s staff and faculty have also helped in the efforts through donations.

This year, the Cultural Day Paradon will take place on Sunday, November 4, 2012. All proceeds from the ticket sales for this event will benefit the Syrian Armenian Relief Fund as well.

The Chair of Syrian Armenian Relief Fund Executive Committee (SARF), Mr. Zaven Khanjian, congratulated Chamlian in helping the Armenian community in Syria, “SARF applauds and commends Chamlian Armenian School’s Administration, Faculty, Staff and Parent Support Committee for their unwavering commitment and selfless efforts. The school has proudly joined forces with Mr. Anto Baghdasarian, owner of Karoun Dairy and the Grand Sponsor of the Hye AID Benefit Concert, to help the Syrian Armenians. The SARF Committee is hopeful that this spirit of giving will inspire the greater Armenian Community.”

On behalf of Chamlian Armenian School, Principal Vazken Madenlian extends his heartfelt appreciation to all those who have participated in this noble cause.
