The national Armenian multi-fissured entity crawls towards 2015, at the threshold of the Centenary of the Armenian Genocide, without a clear common agenda and in the absence of a transparent prescription springing from a national ideology.
The absence of outside allies on our road of reclamation has been obvious for a long time. Yes they are cognizant of the crime’s veracity, but alas, the unshakeable affinity and mutual interests with the criminal are sufficient for them to suggest to us to go to sleep, waiting for more decisive days, which have not shown up… in a century.
While the enemy continues to deny the genocide it perpetrated, the global interests of nations that it perceives to serve make them oblivious to the continuing injustice.
“The chivalrous black devil,” once again betraying the loftiest human principles embodied by the French revolution itself with a determination devoid of morality, leads with a crazy purblindness the gang carrying on a policy of devastation and pyromania in the Middle East, especially toward Syria, one of the progressive Arab countries once under its protectorate, to bring her down to her knees for the interest of the West and Israel, incidentally at the price of dismemberment and destruction.
And the share we’ve inherited in all this?… The crisis of the Syria-Armenians.
As if the immoral abandonment of Cilicia in 1921 or the offering of Sanjak to Turkey on a gold platter in 1937 weren’t enough, we are now again faced with the peril and horror of a similar dismemberment of the Syrian homeland a century after the Catastrophe, this time perhaps to lose the “Fanciful” Aleppo and Eden-like Kessab to the salivating jaws of the hyena?
“You, human justice Let me spit in your face”As the crisis of the Syrian-Armenians continued for a second year, it got more complicated and placed all the segments of Armenian Diaspora’s Mother community in grave danger, from Damascus to the Coast and the region of Jezireh, and especially the Aleppo-Armenians.
Our Aleppo-Armenian kinsmen have been living in terror and fear, and conditions reminiscent of the Great Catastrophe; partially with no refuge, with the evacuated Nor Giugh settlement and recently the Sheikh Taha area, more often without water, electricity, food, income, medical care and access to hospitals. In a word, without the basic necessities of life.
The Syrian-Armenians living in Syria IS CARRYING ON A STRUGGLE FOR EXISTENCE AND LIFE. While we, as a nation, in the Diaspora and the Homeland, blinded, don’t see the crisis as what it is.
Everywhere, it’s business as usual.
Banquet, show, April 24, centennial, presidential elections, Raffi’s popular campaign, etc.
All of these are the inseparable parts of our national and community life, the thermometer of their health, extremely important and should go on. But on our immediate national agenda, not primary.
I recall Tekeyan’s lament:
“They’re slaughtering a nation there
Oh, help, help!”
We are grateful to our people. When they were asked they responded nobly and we crowned HyeAID successfully and with a splendid expression of solidarity on November 11, 2012.
We are also grateful to our homeland, which takes care of the Syrian-Armenian refugees that have found haven in her embrace with motherly compassion.
All these, however, are not sufficient in the face of the formidability of the crisis.
The challenges continue and will continue until “the flood of bombs comes to an end” and this calamity of war and horror ceases. And if there is any doubt or hesitation in the collective mind of society in relation to what has been declared, spoken or said by everybody or if the alarm sounded is not yet sufficient, today, in the name of all my colleagues representing the community and myself, I declare the crisis of the Syrian-Armenians A NATIONAL DISASTER and call upon all Armenians to mobilize ourselves to stand up to the disaster in two ways, in sentiments, preparedness and steps commensurate with a NATIONAL DISASTER:
1. To carry on the most basic humanitarian material aid to secure the survival struggle of the Syrian-Armenians residing in Syria.
2. To urge the leadership of our political, religious and humanitarian organizations and the homelands’ total potential of international diplomacy to demand where it’s due to put an end to this destructive and brutal war, stopping all foreign interventions and impelling the opposing forces to the negotiating table. We owe it to the hospitable Syrian homeland and people. Let’s not forget that the genocide perpetrator is in his familiar role throughout this crisis. It is imperative to foil all its plans.
And we, loyal to the role entrusted to us in this direction, and as the Executive Committee of the Syrian-Armenian Relief Fund (SARF), have undertaken a second HyeAID project, the details of which will reach everyone through the press.
According to the latest news from Aleppo and considering that due to the inaccessibility of the cemeteries our community there had lost its convenience to render last honors to its dead, the local authorities have provided the Armenian community a special strip of land in a safer area. Thus, the dead have found their place to rest in peace.
What about the living?
Ազգային Աղէտի Հռչակման Հրամայականը – Հապա Ողջե՞րը
Եղեռնի հարիւրամեակի սեմին հայ ազգային բազմաճեղք էութիւնը կը սողոսկի դէպի 2015, առանց յստակ ընդհանրական օրակարգի եւ ի բացակայութիւն ազգային գաղափարախօսութենէ բխած վճիտ թելադրանքի:
Պահանջատիրութեան ճանապարհին օտար դաշնակիցներու բացակայութիւնը երկար ժամանակ է որ ակնյայտ է: Այո, գիտակից են ոճիրի ճշմարտութեան բայց ափսոս, ոճրագործին հետ անոնց ունեցած անխախտ մտերմութիւնը եւ փոխադարձ շահերը բաւարար են մեզ թելադրելու որ նիրհենք, սպասելով աւելի բախտորոշ օրերու, որոնք հարիւրամեակէ մը ի վեր…..ժամանած չեն:
Իսկ երջանիկ թշնամին հաստատօրէն շարունակելով իր մեղանչումի ժխտումը, անփառունակ նենգութեամբ մը ամբարտաւանօրէն կը շարունակէ ուրացումի քաղաքականութիւնը, իր ծառայութիւններու լեցուն կողովով թմրեցուցած ըլլալով մշտահոս ախորժակներու տէր, յղփացած աշխարհակալները:
«Ասպետական սեւ սատանան» բարոյականութենէ զուրկ տրամադրութեամբ անգամ մը եւս դաւաճանելով ֆրանսական յեղափոխութեամբ իսկ մարմնաւորուած մարդկային ամենավեհ սկզբունքներուն, խելակորոյս կուրութեամբ կ՛առաջնորդէ քանդումի եւ հրկիզման քաղաքականութիւնը վարողներու վոհմակը Միջին Արեւելքի մէջ, ի մասնաւորի հանդէպ՝ անցեալին իր հոգատարութեան տակ գտնուող արաբական յառաջադէմ երկիրներէն Սուրիոյ, արեւմուտքի եւ Իսրայէլի հաշւոյն ծունկի բերելու զայն, ի դէպ անդամահատման եւ կործանումի գնով:
Իսկ այս բոլորին մէջ մեր ժառանգած բաժի՞նը՝ …Սուրիահայութեան տագնապը: Բաւարար չեր կարծես Կիլիկիոյ անբարոյ պարպումը 1921ին եւ կամ Սանճաքի ոսկիէ ափսէի մը վրայ Թուրքիոյ ընծայումը 1937ին, ահա անգամ մը եւս եղեռնէն դար մը ետք կը դիմագրաւենք Սուրիական հայրենիքի նոյնանման անդամահատման վտանգն ու վախը, այս անգամ գուցէ կորսնցնելո՞ւ «Երազային» Հալէպն ու Դրախտանման Քէսապը, բորենիի լորձնաշուրթն երախներուն:
«Ով մարդկային արդարութիւն Թող ես թքնեմ քո ճակտին»: Սուրիահայութեան տագնապը իր երկրորդ տարին բոլորեց աւելի բարդանալով եւ լուրջ վտանգի ենթարկելով Սփիւռքահայ Մայր գաղութի բոլոր հայ հատուածները, Դամասկոսէն՝ Ծովափ եւ Ճեզիրէի շրջանը, բայց եւ մանաւանդ Հալէպահայութիւնը: Հալէպահայ մեր արենակիցները ատէն մըն է որ կ’ապրին ահ ու սարսափի մէջ եւ Մեծ Եղեռնը յուշող պայմաններու տակ: Մասամբ անպատսպար, պարպուած Նոր Գիւղ աւանով եւ վերջերս Շէյխ Թահայի տարածքով, շատ յաճախ առանց ջուրի, հոսանքի, սնունդի, եկամուտի, բժշկական հոգածութեան եւ հիւանդանոցի: Մէկ խօսքով առանց կենսանիւթի ամենատարրական կարիքներուն:
Սուրիաբնակ Սուրիահայութիւնը ԳՈՅՈՒԹԵԱՆ ԵՒ ԿԵԱՆՔԻ ՊԱՅՔԱՐ ԿԸ ՄՂԷ: Իսկ մենք ազգովին, Սփիւռքի եւ Հայրենիքի մէջ կուրցած՝ չենք տեսներ տագնապը այնպէս՝ ինչպէս որ է:
Ամենուրէք «it is business as usual» Ճաշկերոյթ, հանդէս, Ապրիլ 24, 100ամեակ, նախագահական ընտրութիւններ, Րաֆֆիի ժողովրդական պայքար, եւլն:
Այս բոլորը մեր ազգային եւ համայնքային կեանքի անբաժան մասնիկներն են, առողջութեան ջերմաչափը, խիստ կարեւոր եւ պէտք է շարունակուին: Բայց մեր ազգային անմիջական օրակարգի վրայ ո՛չ առաջնահերթ:
Կը յիշեմ Թէքէեանի ողբը
«կը սպաննեն ազգ մը այնտեղ
ա՜հ, օգնութիւ՜ն, օգնութիւ՜ն»
Մենք երախտապարտ ենք մեր ժողովուրդին: Երբ խնդրուեցաւ՝ ազնուօրէն արձագանգեցին եւ մենք յաջողութեամբ եւ զօրակցութեան փայլուն արտայայտութեամբ պսակեցինք HyeAIDը Նոյ. 11, 2012ին:
Մենք նաեւ երախտապարտ ենք մեր հայրենիքին որ մայրական գութով հոգ կը տանի իր ծոցին մէջ ապաստան գտած գաղթական Սուրիահայերուն: Այս բոլորը սակայն բաւարար չեն տագնապի ահաւորութեան դիմաց:
Մարտահրաւէրը կը շարունակուի եւ պիտի շարունակուի մինչեւ «ջրհեղեղը ռումբերու գտնէ վերջ» եւ դադրի պատերազմի ու սարսափի այս արհաւիրքը: Եւ եթէ մինչեւ այսօր բոլորին կողմէ յայտարարուածին, խօսուածին կամ ըսուածին առընչութեամբ որեւէ կասկած կամ տարակուսանք կայ հասարակութեան ընդհանրական մտքին մէջ եւ կամ եթէ մինչեւ հիմա հնչուած ահազանգը բաւարար չէ տակաւին, այսօր, իմ եւ իմ համայնքի ներկայացուցիչ բոլոր գործակիցներուս անունով Սուրիաբնակ Սուրիահայութեան տագնապը կը հռչակեմ՝ ԱԶԳԱՅԻՆ ԱՂԷՏ եւ կոչ կ’ուղղեմ համայն հայութեան որ ԱԶԳԱՅԻՆ ԱՂԷՏԻ համապատասխան տրամադրութեամբ, պատրաստութեամբ եւ միջոցառումներով զօրաշարժի ենթարկենք մենք զմեզ դիմագրաւելու աղէտը երկու ճանապարհներով:
1- Շարունակել մարդկային ամենատարրական նիւթական օժանդակութիւնը ապահովելու համար Սուրիաբնակ Սուրիահայութեան գոյապայքարը:
2- Մղել մեր քաղաքական, եկեղեցական եւ բարեսիրական ղեկավարութիւնը եւ հայրենիքի միջազգային դիւանագիտական ամբողջ կարողականութիւնը պահանջելու առ որ անկ է վերջ տալու այս կործանիչ եւ գազանաբարոյ պատերազմին, կասեցնելով արտաքին բոլոր միջամտութիւններն եւ մղելով հակամարտ ուժերը բանակցութեան սեղանին: Մենք պարտական են այդ՝ ասպնջական Սուրիական հայրենիքին եւ ժողովուրդին: Չմոռնանք թէ ցեղասպանը իր ծանօթ դերին մէջ է այս տագնապի հոլովոյթին: Պէտք է ամէն գնով վիժեցնել անոր ծրագիրները:
Իսկ մենք, այս ուղղութեամբ, հաւատարիմ մեզի վստահուած դերին եւ որպէս Սուրիահայութեան Զօրակցութեան Միացեալ Մարմին ձեռնարկած ենք երկրորդ HyeAID ծրագրի մը որուն մանրամասնութիւնները շուտով մամուլի միջոցաւ կը հասնին բոլորին: Հալէպէն հասած լուրերու համաձայն եւ նկատի ունենալով որ մեր գաղութը, գերեզմանոցներու անհասանելիութեան պատճառաւ, իր մեռելներուն վերջին յարգանքի տուրքը մատուցանելու պատեհութիւնը կորսնցուցած էր, տեղական պատկան իշխանութիւնները հայ համայնքին յատկացուցած են աւելի ապահով շրջանի մը մէջ յատուկ հողաշերտ մը: Այս ձեւով իրենց հանգիստը գտած են մեռելները:
